Camelot Carpet Mills: The CBA’s of Carpet
Carpet is still the flooring of choice for most American homeowners. In addition to beautifying your home, carpet provides warmth, comfort and a feeling of well-being. Choosing the right style and color that best suits your needs can be a little daunting, but can be made easier by a basic understanding of carpet and it’s performance characteristics. Camelot is famous for trend-setting textures and colors, offering a wide variety of carpets that will more than meet your family’s individual lifestyle.
Although we generally hear about the “ABC’s” of things, studies have found that most consumers think about their carpet purchasing in reverse order.

Color is almost always the first thing we gravitate toward when shopping for home decor items, and carpet is no exception. The selection of carpet color is a very personal choice. Carpet comes in almost every color, pattern and texture you can imagine. There are literally thousands of decorating ideas - all of which involve color and texture.
Subtle, tone-on-tone designs create a calm, soothing mood and are perfect for adding a variety of textures. Conversely, vibrant, extreme colors that demand our attention will be best served by keeping texture variations to a minimum.
A monochromatic color scheme uses a single color on almost every room surface. The one color is often paired with white or another neutral.
In an analogous color scheme —those that use colors next to each other on the color wheel, such as yellow and green— usually one color is dominant and the others secondary in importance.
Complementary colors — those opposite each other on the wheel, such as yellow and blue - offer more definition and tend to make rooms more formal and exciting.
In general, let one color take center stage. Use the complementary color as a counterpoint. Don’t allow it to compete with your central color. Bring in the complementary color through fabric & accessories - even a bowl of fruit. Toss in a sprinkling of white, black or taupe as a visual resting place for additional drama.
Your home is your own personal paradise; don’t be afraid to express your individuality in color, texture and design. |

Pronounced frih-zay’, this carpet style is the ultimate in laid-back and informal and is very forgiving in high traffic homes. The yarn is twisted so tightly that it curls over itself at the ends. This shows off its nubby appearance, which is what makes this style so clever at hiding footprints and vacuum marks. This style also is excellent for reducing the appearance of seams. |

The yarn used in cable styles is usually longer and thicker than that of any of its counterparts. Cable carpets feel very comfortable underfoot, their casual appearance is extremely inviting and they are best suited for low to medium traffic areas. |
